Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants are commonly found near bodies of water. Making homes around Lake Waconia especially susceptible to carpenter ant activity. Carpenter ants are attracted to water and water-damaged wood. This could either be found inside a tree, tree stump, or firewood left outside. The ants use the soft wood to chew tunnels to store their eggs, larvae, and the queen.

Ant Service in St. Paul Minnesota

Our Ant Service

Treating ants is a tricky process. The ants that people see crawling in their homes only makeup 10% of the entire ant colony. The rest of the ants stay hidden underground protected from any ant spray you will buy at the store. Our products are specifically designed to not kill the 10% of the ants right away. Instead the product we use keeps them alive long enough to carry it back to the rest of the colony. Once the product makes its way back to the nest it spreads and kills the entire colony. This process takes 30 days to exterminate any ant colony living inside or outside.

Mice in Waconia Minnesota

Mice in Burnsville Minnesota

Mouse Behavior

Homes in Waconia Minnesota are especially susceptible to mice due to the lake, woods, and farms surrounding the town. These habitats attract mice because there is an influx of trees and plant cover for mice to hide inside and seeds to feed on. Mice spend their entire lives foraging for food and breeding. As they forage for food they often store it inside homes to stockpile for winter. As they are climbing in and out of a home they leave scent trails. This allows for other mice in their group to locate entry points and their food. Over time these scent trails can become visible and become rub marks (see left photo).

Mouse service in Coon Rapids Minnesota

Mouse Service

Our mouse service starts with a thorough inspection of the exterior of the home. During the inspection we search for major entry points, signs of mice climbing, and limitations. During our inspection, we will not locate 100% of the entry points. Homes with stucco, wood, and brick siding are all susceptible to mice climbing. Limitations include areas of the home that are blocking us from accessing 100% of the foundation or roof. An example of this would be a cedar shake roof or a low three-season porch. After an inspection, our customers can call us to schedule our signature seal-up service. During this service, we use long-lasting construction-grade materials to seal all the mouse entry points on the outside.

Wasps in Waconia Minnesota

yellow jackets in Minnesota facts page

Yellow Jackets

Yellow jackets build their nests in a variety of different locations. It is common for them to build their nests inside other structures which makes it impossible to know how many wasps are living inside. They can build nests underground, inside trees, retaining walls, foundations, and a variety of other locations. They also can be found building aerial nests that are sphere-shaped. By the end of the summer, one nest could have over 1,000 wasps living inside. These wasps can become aggressive towards intruders that get too close.

Wasp Service

The two wasp services we provide are preventative and extermination. Each spring every wasp nest is built from scratch. To make sure no new nests are built on your home we provide a preventative treatment. During this service, we apply a product around the exterior of the home. This product will kill any wasp that lands on it before it can build a nest. The product stays effective for 2 months. If the home already has a large wasp nest we use a different product. It allows all the wasps outside the nest to carry it back inside to spread the product to the rest of the colony.

Spider service in the Twin Cities of Minnesota

Spider Service

With spider treatments, it’s important to stay proactive and preventive. Spiders can multiply quickly, especially when a home is built around a lake or wetland. Each cobweb can store egg sacs that hold 100s of baby spiders. This is why it’s so important for us to knock down as many webs as we can before we spray. The product we use loses its effectiveness after 2 months. After 2 months the product will not kill and keep spiders from entering the home.

Boxelder Bugs and Stink Bugs

Boxelder Bugs and Stink Bugs

Boxelder bugs and stink bugs start appearing in swarms in the fall in Waconia Minnesota. They’re driven to locate areas to overwinter inside as temperatures at night start to drop. Boxelder bugs often find entry points under damaged weatherstripping, and cracks around windows, siding, and the foundation. For stink bugs, they get inside homes through the attic. They do this by accessing entry points high off the ground. This includes fireplaces, soffits, and roof vents. Once either one is inside for the winter they do not breed or lay eggs.

BOGO insect treatments

Boxelder Bug and Stink Bug Treatment

This service is only offered in the fall. Each service focuses strictly on the exterior of the home. We spray around the foundation, windows, doors, soffits, and siding. Due to these insects being able to fit through the smallest entry points and fly, we spray almost the entire home. We do this so no matter where the bugs land they will cross over our product and die before they get inside. The service is more effective if completed right before the swarms start to appear. If these bugs are already on your siding there is a good chance a population is already inside.

Ash tree treatment Anoka Minnesota

Ash Tree Service

There are a variety of different methods to treat an ash tree. They all have their benefits and flaws. The one flaw that our method has is that it takes longer to complete. The method we use is called pneumatic micro-injections. During this method, we drill multiple holes around the trunk of the tree. Each hole is then injected with our product individually. Because we inject each hole individually we can measure the correct dosage needed for each injection point.
