The two most common ants in Rogers Minnesota are pavement ants and carpenter ants. Pavement ants are small measuring only 0.3 cm in length. The emerald ash borer has been spreading across Rogers Minnesota. The insect is an invasive species from Northeastern Asia. They infect ash trees all across Minnesota. The female boxelder bugs lay eggs on the bark of the tree. As the eggs hatch the larvae chew through the bark to the cambium layer of the tree. This is the youngest part of the tree. The layer spreads water and nutrients from the soil to all the branches and trees. When the larvae eat it they slowly suffocate the tree stopping the nutrients from reaching the entire tree.

There are multiple different ways of treating an infected ash tree. The treatment we use involves doing pneumatic micro-injections. The benefit of using this treatment is that the product used to save the tree is injected individually. This allows each injection to be correctly measured and spread evenly throughout the entire tree.
