General Insect Treatments

Here at BOGO Pest Control, we are passionate about making our services eco-friendly. The products we use are designed to be safe for our customers and the environment. Our water-based insect treatment releases no harmful aerosol particles into the environment. Our focus is solely on treating the home structure or spraying directly onto a wasp/ant nest. We do not spray the product on plants or lawn. The product is derived from the chrysanthemum wildflower. The flower is native to Eastern Asia. It is important to keep children and pets off treated areas for one hour to allow the product to dry. Once dry, it will not penetrate or affect anyone’s skin or fur. After drying, the product maintains effectiveness for 2 months. During that time, it acts as a barrier, killing any insects that land on treated areas before they can enter the home.

Why Poisoning Mice Doesn’t Work

BOGO’s signature mouse service was designed eco-friendly. We don’t believe in using poison. We eliminate mouse infestations by sealing exterior entry points. Companies using poison for rodent control typically lock customers into annual contracts. We aim to solve our customers’ mouse problems with just one service. We do not require contracts for any of our residential services. Using poison indoors will not prevent mice from entering your home. It’s not possible to eliminate all outdoor mice because they breed throughout the year. Mice that eat the bait often die in unreachable places, making them impossible to remove. This can cause a foul stench to permeate the home. Poison bait that is left outside can also impact other animals. Squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks can find their way inside bait stations. If we must use bait, its low toxicity ensures it will not impact larger predators. A rodent needs to ingest a much smaller amount to die than a large owl or hawk.

Why Mosquito Treatments Are Bad

We have decided to stop servicing homes for mosquitoes. Mosquito treatments hurt the ecosystem and the environment. Harmful airborne chemicals are released into the atmosphere and can spread easily by the wind. When companies treat for mosquitoes, they are spraying all of the foliage and grass surrounding the property. These treatments kill other insects that also land on the foliage. This includes important pollinators such as butterflies, bees, moths, and more. Mosquito treatments are rarely as effective as advertised. Many mosquitoes will still be able to bypass treated areas and fly from neighboring properties to the home. Homes that are close to a body of water will notice even less of an effect. Since mosquitoes lay their eggs in water, there will always be a large population of mosquitoes around the property. The best and most eco-friendly options are to use mosquito-repellent candles or tiki torches.
