General Insect Treatments

Here at BOGO Pest Control, we are passionate about making our services eco-friendly. The products we use are designed to be safe for our customers and the environment. Our product for general insect treatments is water-based meaning no harmful aerosol air particles are being released into the atmosphere or environment. We only focus on spraying the home or directly on a wasp or ant nest. We do not spray the product on plants and the lawn. The product is also derived from a wildflower. The flower is the chrysanthemum flower. The flower is native to eastern Asia. The only exception with our product is to keep any pets and kids off of the treated areas for an hour to let the product dry. Once its dry it will not penetrate through or affect anyone’s skin or fur. After it’s dry the product will still be effective for 2 months. During that time it will kill any insects that land on the treated areas of the home before they can get inside.

Why Poisoning Mice Doesn’t Work

BOGO’s signature mouse service was designed to be eco-friendly. We don’t believe in using poison. We solve mouse infestations by sealing up entry points from the outside. Companies that use poison to keep mice out of the house are often companies that sign their customers into yearly contracts. We try our best to solve our customers’ mouse problems with just one service. We don’t use contracts for any of our residential services. Using poison inside won’t keep the mice out of the home. Because mice breed all year long it is impossible to kill all the mice that are outside. The mice that get inside to eat the poison will die in places that make it impossible to remove them. This can lead to a horrific smell inside the home. Poison bait that is left outside can also impact other animals. Squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks can find their way inside bait stations. If we do have to use bait for other services our bait is weak enough in toxicity that it will not impact larger predator animals. A rodent needs to eat a much smaller amount to die compared to a large owl or hawk.

Why Mosquito Treatments Are Bad

We have decided to stop servicing homes for mosquitos. Mosquito treatments hurt the ecosystem and the environment. Harmful airborne chemicals are released into the atmosphere and can spread easily by the wind. When companies treat for mosquitos they are spraying all of the foliage and grass surrounding the property. These treatments kill other insects that also land on the foliage. This includes important pollinators such as butterflies, bees, moths, and more. Mosquito treatments also aren’t as effective as advertised. Many mosquitos will still be able to bypass any sprayed areas and fly to the home that was treated from the surrounding properties. Homes that are close to another body of water will notice even less of an effect. Since mosquitos lay their eggs in water there will always be a large population of mosquitos around the property. The best and most eco-friendly option is to use mosquito-repellent candles or tiki torches.
