What is Included?

Our IPP includes 100s of insects found in Minnesota. The few that are not included are insects that require comprehensive treatments to exterminate their population. Each insect treatment is based on science and the phenology of that insect’s behavior. Some insects become more prevalent in the spring while others appear in swarms in the fall. We provide customers with specifically designed treatments to combat whatever insect they’re dealing with at that time of year. The products we use can stay effective for around 2 months. Over time the spray products lose their effectiveness due to the sun and rain hitting the home. This is why we need to come back every 1-2 months for the most effective results!

Each treatment is between 1-2 months apart

Behavior

Ticks go through a 2-year life cycle. Starting from an egg into an adult. One female tick will lay thousands of eggs in the spring. Not every egg makes it to an adult as birds, bats, insects, and amphibians eat them. Their eggs are often found inside thick and overgrown brush. As larvae, they often attach to small animals like mice or birds. The larvae are not born with Lyme disease instead it is given to them depending on if their host is carrying it. Ticks often stay attached to one host for 5 days. They latch on by crawling up tall blades of grass and plants and fall on their hosts as they walk or crawl passed. Ticks do not fly or jump.

Wayzata Fall pest treatment

Prevention

Our tick prevention service is mostly needed for homes built near marshes, woods, and other areas with thick vegetation. Ticks attach themselves to hosts by falling off leaves and branches as animals and humans go by. Our service focuses on spraying plants at the edge of the property and any landscaping plants that are close to the home. Ticks don’t climb very high so we only focus on spraying 3-4 feet off the ground.

vole damage

Vole Damage

Vole damage can occur during all times of the year. Most homeowners first notice it in the spring after the snow has melted. Voles like mice don’t hibernate. In the wintertime, voles dig tunnels below the snow to stay warm and stay hidden from predators. During this time they feed on the roots of the grass. This causes the grass to die damaging the lawn. Homes that are located near a body of water, wooded area, or grassland will have an increase in vole activity.

Bait station placement for Vols

Vole & Mouse Prevention

To prevent lawn damage from voles and to keep mice from getting inside we offer an outdoor rodent management plan (ORMP). We stake down bait stations along the edge of the property line and near the foundation. This becomes more effective when placed close to their natural habitat. Marshes, retaining walls, woods, and lakes are all places that attract voles and mice. The bait inside the stations is used to control the population living around the home.

If you have an IPP plan we will service these stations at the same time and price as an insect service with the cost of an installation fee. With the add-on, we will also come out once in the winter for an additional charge because voles and mice will still be active.

***There is a one-time fee to install and pay for the stations
