Interior Service

Our interior ant treatment is used for heavily infested homes or to get rid of ants in the winter. The products we use include; foam or water-based products and ant bait discs. The foam is sprayed into various cracks and crevices around the house where the ants are crawling out. The most common include; underneath home appliances, behind baseboards, around outlets, and inside unfinished rooms. The ant bait discs are put inside rooms of the home where the ants are the most active. The ant takes the bait and returns it to the nest to spread throughout the colony before killing them. The foam and water-based products work the same way. They don’t kill the ants right away. After an interior treatment, it can take 2 weeks to see a difference in ant activity. It should take 30 days to exterminate the ant colony.

Exterior Service

When there is no longer snow on the ground we provide exterior treatments to get rid of the ants. We focus on spraying the foundation and patios around the home. We also treat around areas that ants may climb to bypass entering the house through the foundation. This includes decks, downspouts, and sometimes trees that touch the house. Only licensed pest control technicians can use the product. The ants that we see above the ground make up 10% of an ant colony. The rest of the ants stay underground for their entire lives including the queen. Ants that cross over the product carry it back inside the nest. Once inside, it spreads to the rest of the colony. It takes 6 to 12 hours for the ants to die after getting the product on them. After an exterior ant treatment, it takes 30 days to exterminate the ant colonies.
