Ants in Mound Minnesota
Pavement Ants
One of the most common ants in Mound Minnesota is the pavement ant. These ants are easy to spot outside as their nests often have circular sand piles. They build their nests under driveways, sidewalks, patios, and anywhere there is cement or brick. Unfortunately, these ants don’t always stay outside. In the winter you can find them foraging inside homes with heated floors and garages, slab-on-grade foundations, unfinished basements, and insulated foundations. When it’s warmer they will also come inside to find food and then carry it outside to their nest.
Our Ant Service
To combat an ant infestation it’s important to call a professional before handling it on your own. Many products that are sold at your local department stores can make the problem worse! Our products are designed to affect and exterminate the entire ant colony not just the ones you see inside your home. Only around 10% of the ants in a colony leave the nest. So by only killing the ones you see, the problem will not go away. The rest of the colony will think that their nest is being threatened. This will trigger them to send out more ants to offset the ones that didn’t come back. Our products take 30 days to exterminate the entire ant colony

Mice in Mound Minnesota
Mouse Behavior
In Mound Minnesota, mice are attracted to Lake Minnetonka and the woods surrounding it. Almost every home that is located near a body of water will see an increase in pest activity. This includes insects and mice. In the spring and summer mice forage for seeds and nuts from trees to stockpile for the winter. If a mouse has access inside a home they will store what they find inside the foundation, attic, ceilings, or walls.
Mouse Service
There is only one effective long-term solution for keeping out of the home. The best way to do it is by sealing up all the entry points on the outside. Luckily this is our signature service and we use materials that make it impossible for mice to chew through. We want to have your home sealed forever! This is why we tie ourselves to most of our work with a 2-year warranty. The type of warranty we offer may differ depending on any limitations we might encounter during our initial inspection.

Wasps in Mound Minnesota
Wasp Behavior
Yellow jackets are aggressive wasps found around Mound and Lake Minnetonka. Their nests are often hard to locate. When they are found it is often because the wasps feel threatened and start to sting from getting too close. Their nests can vary in many different locations. From inside trees, retaining walls, underground, and inside the siding or foundation of a home. By the end of the summer, one nest could have thousands of wasps living inside! Another common wasp is the bald-faced hornet. Each nest is built the same and is in the shape of a teardrop. The papery nesting material is found by the workers chewing thin layers off of dried-up wood. This could be found on unstained decks or more commonly wood shingles. By the end of the summer, their nests could have anywhere between 400-700 wasps living inside.
Wasp Service
Dealing with a wasp nest can be difficult and dangerous if you are not properly equipped. It’s important to have the correct safety equipment and wasp spray. The products that we use are only available to licensed pest control technicians. These products allow for a worker wasp that leaves the nest to pick up the product and carry it back to the rest of the colony. Once the product is inside the nest it spreads to all the wasps including the queen. We also offer a preventative service to spray around the home. This product kills the wasps on contact. Any wasp that lands on the home will die before they can start building a new nest.

Spiders in Mound Minnesota
Spider Behavior
Bodies of water like lakes, ponds, rivers, and marshes all have one thing in common. They attract insects. Insects just like any living organism need water to survive. Due to the influx of insects living around water spiders are also drawn to these habitats. Spiders feed on insects to survive. Without spiders, many insects would quickly become overpopulated and would be able to spread more diseases to animals and plants. There are 2 types of ways spiders hunt for insects. There are hunting spiders and there are web-building spiders.
Our Spider Service
Knocking down cobwebs on the home’s exterior is an integral part of our spider service. Each web is capable of storing multiple little egg sacs. Inside each egg sac, 100s of little spiders will come out if left on the home. Knocking down the webs also influences the adult spiders to move and fall off the webs. As they fall they are more likely to move across any of the sprayed areas. We spray our product around corners, foundations, soffits, windows, and doors. The product we spray will kill any spider or insect that crosses over it in 30-45 minutes. The product also stays effective for up to 2 months.

Boxelder Bugs and Stink Bugs in Mound Minnesota
Boxelder/Stink Bugs
Stink bugs hitchhiked their way to the United States inside shipping containers from Eastern Asia. The first one seen in Minnesota was in 2010. There is still a lot we don’t know about this insect but we have figured out that they overwinter inside homes like boxelder bugs. Both insects when they are inside in the winter do not breed or lay eggs. A majority of them stay dormant but there are always a few moving around in the middle of winter. This happens when the sun warms up the windows and siding of the home just enough to give the insects energy to move around. Both insects start breeding in the spring and lay eggs throughout the summer on plants and trees.
Our Boxelder and Stink Bug Service
Spraying for boxelder bugs and stink bugs is done at the same time each year. The reason our service has been so effective is that we treat right before the insects start swarming and moving inside homes to overwinter. The best time to do this is between September and October. When we spray we spray the home from the foundation up to the soffits. When any insect lands on the sprayed areas they die before they can make their way inside.

Ash Tree Service in Mound Minnesota
Benefits of Treating Your Ash Trees
It’s a no-brainer that cutting down a tree can have an impact on the environment. Ash trees that are infected with the Emerald Ash Borer are so sick they need to be cut down. But there is still a way you can save your ash trees before it’s too late, and here’s why you should. A living tree can provide shade for the home, increase the property value of the home, and save you money when it comes to paying someone to cut it down. Companies are raising their prices higher than ever due to the high demand for cutting down sick ash trees. Our service is much cheaper and will save you money.
Our Ash Tree Service
Many companies around Lake Minnetonka offer ash tree treatments. Unfortunately, not every service uses the same method. There are multiple different techniques used to save ash trees from the emerald ash borer. The best method we found was using pneumatic micro-injections. This method involves drilling multiple holes around the bottom of the trunk. Once the holes are drilled we inject the treatment individually into each hole. This takes us a little extra time but by doing it individually each hole receives the correct dosage needed for the size the of tree.
