Common Pests in The Twin Cities Area
Minnesota’s hot summers and bitter cold winters give wild mice, rats, lemmings, and other rodents all the more reason to seek shelter in residential and commercial spaces.
During the “swarming” season, wasps will actively seek out dormant hives and sheltered areas fit for their colony. These often include rock crevices, roof overhangs, and hollowed trees.
Being inherently opportunistic, ant hordes can quickly take over residential and commercial spaces if food or suitable nesting habitats are present.
Boxelder Bugs come in swarms during the fall months in search of areas to overwinter. They can be found enjoying the UV rays on south-facing walls and in the winter they can be found inside the home.
Stink Bugs were first seen in Minnesota in 2010. Since then they have become a big problem as they move inside homes in the fall to overwinter.
